A Home Information Pack (HIP)
Unfortunately at the moment the future of HIPs is in question as the Conservatives have declared that they will scrap them if they come into power. This means that most of the things you will read (and often hear) about HIPs is about whether they should exist or not, and not about how to choose one.
The first thing it’s essential to know is that this ‘lack of enthusiasm’ for HIPs has led to them being traded, a bit like a commodity for some companies trying to secure your instruction if an agent, or your legal business if a Conveyancer or Solicitor.
The second thing you need to know is no-one in the industry is taking the time to read them and pointing out the useful things that they do tell you. In effect the industry, media and the politicians are just using them as a ‘punching bag’. Not helpful to you of course if you are a seller having to buy one or indeed a buyer trying to read one and desperately trying to understand if there is anything useful in them you need to know.
Well, not to worry, unlike everyone else, our prime concern is making sure you have the best and most independent information so you can to buy a good value HIP and read it to find out more about the home you are looking to buy.
Read the Top Five things you need to know when Choosing a Home Information Pack to Sell Your Home to ensure you choose the right HIP!
