How to Property Investment
We regularly answer all types of consumer property questions for FREE via our Property Forum.
Here's an example of one of the many property questions we have recently answered:-
Q - I am looking into investing in the UK or overseas and have been looking at investment companies. I am cautious about investing without seeing the location and I'm hoping the investment will provide a small pension. I have researched alot online but without having seen the location, I'm not sure if I should go ahead. What should I be aware of or is there any more research I can do online? A - We don't always have good reports from people working with investment companies and we would absolutely advise against buying any property that you haven't visited whether this is abroad or in the UK, so you should add into the investment cost the price of a trip to the area you are looking to invest in.
With regards to investing via a club/sourcing company, ideally they should belong to the Property Ombudsman Scheme and for valuing the property you are looking to purchase, get an independent valuation from an RICS Surveyor.
You should also be seeking financial/specialist property tax advice so you know how much it will cost you to sell the investment and/or what tax you will pay through rent. READ THE COMPLETE ANSWER HERE!
