Kate Faulkner joins Leading Experts in the Housing Market at the Northern Ireland Housing Conference
Leading experts on the housing market will address Northern Ireland at Stormont in Belfast today.
RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) global chief economist, Simon Rubinsohn; Professor Brendan Williams of UCD (University College Dublin), an authority on NAMA; and property expert, Kate Faulkner, will be amongst the speakers at the RICS Northern Ireland housing conference, sponsored by Ulster Bank, on January 28th.
The event will also hear from Ulster Bank chief economist, Richard Ramsey; RICS Northern Ireland housing spokesman, Tom McClelland; and a senior representative of the Department for Social Development.
Kate will be presenting on whether consumers should buy a property in 2010 and if they do, what are the considerations.
“I’ve been delighted to present at this event. Often the industry and media release lots of average market statistics which are useful for us, but not necessarily helpful for people who have to move due to personal circumstances” .
The event will consider the likely course of the Northern Ireland housing market in 2010 and beyond, and look at important factors – such as the global and UK pictures, and the Republic of Ireland’s NAMA (National Asset Management Agency), that will likely affect the local market.
Commenting on the event, Ulster Bank head of lending products, Derek Wilson, says: “Ulster Bank is committed to contributing to the health and stability of the housing market in 2010 and into the future. We believe that this event has a valuable role to play, helping provide accurate information about the housing market, which is important to allow people to make informed decisions and to build confidence.”
