Property Myths Exploded!

No. 1: “Britain is a small, overcrowded country”

For all those that object to us building any more homes and believe the UK is a ‘concrete jungle’, probably the biggest surprise is that only eight per cent of land in Britain is urban, half the figure in the Netherlands and lower than Belgium, (West) Germany and Denmark. We are living in crowded and dense cities, not a crowded and urbanised country.

Many would assume that this didn’t apply to Southern England and that it is especially crowded, so perhaps new development should take place in the North? Well here’s another myth exploded, the most urbanised region in England is the North West, and the South West and East Anglia are among the least urbanised.
