Q - I need to sell the former family home. Unfortunately the detached house was underpinned in 1976, but fortunately, the street is turning into millionaires row as the old properties are knocked down, and mansions built.

A - There are a couple of things to consider, firstly you may not if you don't want to, sell the family home, so it's worth sending us some more details via our contact us page and we'll see what we can do to help with the situation.

Alternatively, if you are keen to sell, then the fact that the property was underpinned, shouldn't matter. The cost to a developer of taking down a property is minimal compared to the cost of land etc, so we'd leave it as it is.

However there are lots of things you need to be aware of - including monies other people will make if they are going to help you sell your land.
