As with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) this is an association that represents the interests of members and provides training and advice to them to help maintain/raise the industry standards within insurance.

They can help with general insurance queries, but not life insurance, savings or other financial related products. As with the ABI they offer help online with regards to choosing products and services, and how to find a broker.
