About Us
The idea behind Designs on Property was to provide an independent website with information about all areas of property. Kate wanted people to be able to explore their property passion or find answers to their property questions, using the best resources available from TV to books, the internet, shows and magazines. As a result the first site to be built was the blue site which is free for all to access. However, a model needed to be found to ensure that the site could fund itself into the future. After buying, selling, renting, investing and renovating property, Kate and Jill worked out that much money could be saved if you go to the right companies or purchase the right products from the right place first time around. As a result they created a further site which is for paid subscribers only. Everything that costs money to produce and requires further research or regular content updates goes into this area.

DesignsonProperty is a business Kate has been working on for some years. Kate lives for property. Whether it is the history, architecture, understanding house prices, renovating, understanding others views on property, or just living in one, Kate lives and breathes property on a daily basis. Last year Kate spent most of her time getting the new Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon off the ground and launched to the general public and trade. This year she is working with Developers to help them increase their sales through Part Exchange. In 2005 Harper Collins published Channel 5's House Doctor's new book, "The Property Book" written by Ann Maurice and Kate.Kate is the author of Which? Buy, Sell and Move House and the Which? Essential Guide to Renting and Letting and Which? Develop your Property which is due out in September 2007. Kate regularly features on local BBC stations and recently on BBC Radio 4 You and Yours . Kate is also a committee member for the Institute of Directors in Notts and Derby and in 2005 and 2007 judges the East Midlands Young Enterprise Competition.
Operations Director - Jill Treloggen
Some years ago Kate met Jill through work and found they shared a property passion and Jill had a tremendous flair for interior design. Taking the plunge, Jill left work and set up her own Interior Design business in and around Oxford. So, just like Kate, Jill also lives and breathes property on a daily basis! Jill is now quoted in the local press as one of Oxford's ‘leading interior designers’. With Jill's day to day work work with clients, she is constantly working on sourcing and pricing projects and can therefore provide a great deal of advice and help in fitting out and decorating properties of all types and ages.
Both Jill and Kate regularly watch all of the property programmes on TV, read books, magazines on property and go to the many shows there are around the country. In setting up this site, both aim to capture all the information they collect through their work, new products, services and tricks of the trade and then bring this to those that share their property passion. From a legal perspective, many changes are taking place around property. How we own our homes, the maintenance that we can and cannot do, how we buy, sell, rent, renovate and invest in property is all changing. Overtime there will be many questions that need answering quickly and correctly so that people make the right decisions when it comes to property ownership and maintenance.
Kate and Jill are both active members in their local business communities and both have committee roles for the Institute of Directors and the BNI respectively.
