Moving House Tips - Moving with Pets
Pets may be fabulous company, but they need special consideration when you are moving. Here are some simple pet moving house tips:-
Viewers or estate agents may not be animal lovers so:-
- Find out whether they are, or if they’re allergic.
- Clean up all dog mess, including hairs
- Mask pet smells
- Move pets out if possible, to the car, out for a walk or kennels if required
Consider their needs when the moving day arrives:-
- Dogs and cats can get quite stressed. Send them to kennels or to a familiar person for a few days.
- Leave small pets in a quiet place.
When the move is over:-
- Show them rooms they are allowed in, and their new bed
- Get back into your old daily routine as soon as possible
- Walk them on a lead until familiar with the area
- Make sure the garden is secure
- Change the details on identity tags
- If not micro-chipped, get this carried out as soon as possible.
